Wednesday Women Ep. 4: Sandy Woo, Finance Professional
Welcome back to our Wednesday Women Blog Series!
Today’s spotlight is on Sandy Woo, here to share with us all the hurdles she went through as a woman.
Sandy is a wearer of many hats. She is a mother of two children, a grandmother of one, a finance professional, a math teacher, AND vice president of a female golf league of more than fifty women.
- Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Sandy Woo. I’m sixty years old and I’m a mom, a grandma, and a full-time finance professional. I also teach math on the side and am Vice President of a women’s golf league! Always have a very busy schedule, wearing a lot of different hats!
- When did you first realize you came into womanhood?
That would be back when I gave birth to my firstborn and I held her in my arms for the first time.
- What was your experience with & after pregnancy like?
I was a very young mom, working full time. I had a lot of changes as far as physical because I gained about 50 pounds. None of my clothes fit me, I had to wear larger sized shoes, and my rings were just too tight so I had to cut off all my wedding bands. Skin-wise, my face was very dry and I just went through a lot of different changes. Working full time was very hard because I had to take care of the baby.
- What was your experience with menopause like?
I thought menopause was a one-year thing, but I actually went through it for 5 to 7 years, maybe. Sometimes I feel like I’m still going through it! I would wake up in the middle of the night sweating and be unable to go back to sleep. I wouldn’t call it depression, but I would get very depressed at times, and feel less of a woman definitely sometimes. My skin got really dry, and my hair fell out a lot. I have very healthy hair, but my hair got really thin & brittle and kept falling out. You know, it’s sad, but you just really feel like less of a woman.
- What are your favorite Knours products?
My favorite products are Double Duty Mist and One Perfect Youth Cream. They are very inexpensive, and they have really clean, good ingredients. Other expensive products that I’ve used in the past have chemicals and toxins that have NOT been great. The reason why I love Double Duty Mist is because it’s very portable. The mini size is awesome because I can carry it anywhere. I play a lot of golf and I’m in a league with fifty other women and their age varies from mid 40’s to 70’s. We all went through menopause and some of us are going through it now. They ALL love the mist. The friends that I gave it to like it because it goes right in your purse and you can customize it to your need; you can shake it or not shake it. My routine is, I just wash my face, I spray the mist, I put the youth cream on, and that’s it! I don’t have to go through five different products. I wake up in the morning, and my face feels just as soft and glows just as it would when I was using more high-end products. Perhaps even better!
- If you can tell women out there to know something about themselves, “Know Your _______?”, what would it be?
It would be to know their strength. Everyone has strength, I believe. You need to just discover it and better yourselves, especially women. We are not just moms; we are women with strength.
